Hold the line, Canada!!

lmfao! Too late Mr. TACO. We've already made our decision. We've already left. It's not going to get reversed. We don't have a TACO for a leader!!!!

I’m an American who fully supports Canada and Mark Carney. May they cause Trump to grovel and be shamed.

PJ Schuster's avatar

I sure hope so, this is delicious 😋

Linda OHara's avatar

How could any respected democratic country negotiate with a president who has said numerous times that former President Biden was executed and has been cloned. What kind of person says that kind of stuff. It’s just embarrassing to say the least and VERY, VERY sad 😢

kdsherpa's avatar

and completely INSANE!

J’Lynn Davis's avatar

Even though this will hurt Americans, it is one more nail in Trump’s coffin.

John Molloy's avatar

And I'm one of those being hurt. Still want to see Cheetolinni go down.

Mark Hayes's avatar

I don't want him to go down alone because the line of succession is potentially even worse than the is. If we takes Trump's down, we have to take his entire Administration with him, along with the GOP.

I'm a lifelong liberal and I see the necessity of having a balance of conservative voices — but the US Republican Party is no longer that, nor is it sane.

J’Lynn Davis's avatar

You’re right Mark. It’s the whole (majority) of the Republican Party. We have to name them all. Blaming just trump is inefficient. He doesn’t care. I’m praying that some of them feel the shame that should exist in all of them.

I think that this goes for anyone who not wealthy. Cans costing substantially more than the food inside. As soon as his base starts to feel like cost, maybe, just maybe they will start to wake up.

Gammyjill's avatar

J’Lynn, I sure hope you’re right about the 🌮 base waking up, because nothing else has prompted them to do so.

Carrie Deitzel's avatar

J’lynn-As an American, I say thank-you!

Carrie Deitzel's avatar

And for that, I am grateful!

I hope Carney understands that any "deal" made with Trump has the longevity of a post on Signal.

“And if Trump wants his gold-star summit moment, he’s going to have to pay for it”

Mark Carney, should do nothing to benefit Trump, The U.S. should be excluded from the G7 summit, Canada and the rest of the G7 nations should kick Trump to the curb. Maybe just maybe when the morons who voted for all of this see 7 other nations dismissing Trump as the idiot moron he is, perhaps they will finally see!

Oh and publish those text exchanges.

Lois Levenstone's avatar

Unfortunately, for every well informed American like those who follow on Substack, there are 1-2 that couldn’t find Canada on a map and are not paying the slightest attention.

Carrie Deitzel's avatar

You are so right! It’s not really new. I remember when Jay Leno used to go out & ask questions of people on the street. He’s ask, How many moons does the earth have? Or ‘How long does it take to drive to Cuba?’ and people had no idea. They didn’t even know you can’t drive to Cuba. At least in the past, those Americans were hidden & didn’t embarrass the rest of us so much. —But on the plus side, maybe now we can fix our public schools & stop pushing questionable charter & religious schools.

Lois Levenstone's avatar

I hope that is possible. I follow Jess Piper in Missouri and she always says her state is the template for dumbing down the population. Taking $ from public schools and applying it to private schools, such a terrible disservice to the students and the country.

One cute wrinkle in all of this: Trump told Harvard to send its foreign students home.

One of those students is a freshman in economics by the name of Cleo Carney. Yeah.

So this has gotten a tad personal for our PM.

(Another one of those students is the future queen of Belgium. What on earth?)

Berble's avatar

Another graduate of Harvard is Xi Jinping's daughter.. so good luck with negotiations with China.

Prime Minister Carney, keep up the magnificent work!!!! You are making 2025 great again. What I really enjoy is telling Minnesota MAGAts how PM Carney is kicking President Wrecktum to the curb. Who knows maybe he will stroke out 🥴🥸🥴

Let’s take a moment of silent reflection in sympathy with our president who just suffered the painful loss of his dear friend Elon.

OK, never mind that shitbird- he deserves what he gets, and the karma is starting to come around and bite Drumpf on his ass.

I’m so glad that our neighbor— behold, an actual functioning democracy!— has a smart, sane and competent leader like Mark Carney, who knows just how to handle a man-child, ignorant bully like Drumpf.

Millions and Millions of us Americans understand and support Canada’s boycotting of our products (and tourism), especially focused on red states. I think that things won’t really change much here among the electorate until the consequences of voting for a corrupt fascist are pervasively apparent.

My latest T-shirt reads “Dear Canada – we hate him too!”There’s a nice maple leaf logo in the middle. Go Canada!

Janice Dignum's avatar

Thank you. We are hoping the best for you too who are fighting fascism.

Those recent pictures of you standing up to ICE+ directly to help save your community members were powerful - make me proud of you and so sad for you at the same time.

Janice Dignum's avatar

I*m hoping the best for all of us fighting against fascism.

Amazer98's avatar

Um, there are no photos of me standing up to ICE, since I've thankfully never encountered those thugs in person. I appreciate your making me appear to be a hero, however!

I love the calm, cool class of Canada. You guys are, as my therapist says, “living your boundaries.”

Janice Dignum's avatar

Thank you. Great double meaning, too. Awesome.

#LivingOurBoundaries. So important.

Wish I’d done the double meaning on purpose! Lol

Everything Trump touches dies, it's a cardinal rule of the Charleton.

Linda's avatar

Don’t do it! He made his bed and now has to lay in it. And don’t let him attend G7. He’s a sick moron. Go Canada!

Mark Hayes's avatar

All Canada has to do is obey its own laws to keep Herr Groppenführer away from the G7.

Convicted Felons are barred from entry to Canada.

kdsherpa's avatar

"[Carney's] wielding leverage like a scalpel." An instrument completely unknown to our idiotic so-called "prezzident". LOVE that first picture, where Carney makes a sour expression as the orange sadist tells a whopper of a lie!

Wendymae's avatar

Carney should not negotiate with our terrorist in chief. Only another 1929 moment will cause some magats to open their eyes and it can't come soon enough.

Julie's avatar

I don’t even think they’re smart enough to read those tea leaves!

Diane Battista's avatar

Mr Carney is a very astute, bright man who understands what he’s dealing with
