We applaud Carney once again for doing what is the best for Canada; he will not give in to the insane bully. We will suffer with world isolation and disrespect because of this tyrant. Thank goodness again, Carney stands up to him in the most intelligent way.

Here’s hoping we get more TACO.

Trump backed down after China escalated. With bullies, one must not give them their way.

I don't think Trump has any idea what 'dignity' is. He's like Lucy from the Peanuts comic strip.

Remember Lucy and Charlie Brown and the football? That's how Trump is playing the tariff game. And game it is. He is gaming everybody and everything. Trump insults leaders, looks them in the eyes and bare-faced lies to them; he has no integrity whatsoever.

And doesn't care.

How ironic it would be if the Epstein Black Book or Ghislaine Maxwell finally lives long enough to talk; how ironic if that becomes Trump's undoing.

One can only hope.

Yes 👏 Canada & PM Carney, I’m ready to see the body blow to drumph & the Midwestern economy if there is no TACO. He deserves to be humiliated. I’m part of a smallish group of Democrats in a red county in NM, can’t wait for a few more people around here to wise up.

We just had that horrible flood here last Monday, 2 children & 1 elder man drowned. The kids parents are injured & in the hospital.

Since NM is a blue state, let’s see if any FEMA funds are forthcoming, many people lost their homes.

The good news for you Canadians is your prime minister seems to have a level head on his shoulders. He appears calm, cool and collected and not interested in having a meltdown over every empty threat of Trump’s. Even Wall Street has grown bored with the tariff nonsense. In the beginning of this it reacted heavily. Now they react with annoyance. Companies can’t plan for anything and it’s become a ho hum, let’s grab another cup of coffee, or better yet a stiff drink situation with them too. The only person on the planet who doesn’t understand Trump’s tariffs are all bluster and buffoonery is Trump himself.

Trump & MAGA don’t understand. I wish more countries would react as Canada is reacting. What Trump & the oligarchs understand is a swift kick in the wallet. It’s the only thing to which they will react.

Crying babies? Skeletal, starving humans? People in cages? Masked thugs kidnapping people on our streets? No! But a kick in the wallet? That will get their attention. More kicks please.

Let's be honest, the rest of the world is watching Canada. We are standing tall and will continue to do so. We are the most vulnerable to Trumps tantrums, but we will continue to stand our line in spite of him. As the world sees how Canada isn't just surviving, but thriving, more will follow. The uncertainty introduced to the American economy by Trump, will be Americas downfall and you all can blame Canada, we really are a huge part of the resistance, but most Americans will forget this when this horrific administration is held to account for their crimes.

Yes Trump is all about the buck and getting it. We average Americans don’t have the kind of power to stop his lust for money no matter the cost to us. Trump hates America. He hates Americans too, including his MAGA cult. Everything he does is a big F you to all of us. The MAGA’s just don’t understand his game yet. They will when vital government services are cut off and they are personally affected. That’s yet to come. The rest of the world’s leaders can help us by saying no to him and taking the Carney approach. Trump has a tantrum when he doesn’t get his way and then eventually capitulates almost always.

Your point of view is appreciated but in both of your above posts you imply that the tRump régime's tariffs are just bluff. I can assure you that the people who have been laid off from the steel, aluminum, and auto sectors in my country, due to the very real tariffs tRump has recently illegally and illogically imposed on Canada, are not appreciative of your response.

We did not ask for this, nor did we have a vote for this. Please do not be so condescending towards what we perceive as a very real threat to our economy as well as to our sovereignty.

Then maybe, when your economy really starts suffering and U.S. citizens begin to feel the effects of paying tariffs on Canadian exports to your country, you will change your tune.

Elbows Up!🍁

Thank you for your attention to this matter. ❤️🇨🇦

I respect your perspective and I understand you are coming at it from a Canadian viewpoint. Mine is an American one knowing the way Trump operates. Our own economy has been deeply affected by his dismantling of our federal government and thousands of Americans have lost their jobs as well for no good reason. Trump is a menace to the world at large but in America we also understand his weaknesses because we’ve known how he operates for decades. He talks a very big game but his follow through is poor. Your prime minister is handling him well and you’re fortunate to have him leading your country. For the moment we Americans are stuck with Trump, and the damage he’s doing to us. Rest assured though. We Americans do understand how to fight him and will eventually take our country back.

Actually, when it comes right down to it, you have missed my point. Of course I am seeing it from a Canadian point of view! Why wouldn't I? I am Canadian. 🍁 That is my point with you. Your writing makes it seem like the tariffs are not something to worry about. "Buffoonery and bluffing" I read. That's your view.

I am asking you to just please look at the bigger picture as well. You are not the only ones hurting from your government's policies

Canadians expect you to take care of your problem. We also need you to be aware of how your problem is affecting the rest of the world. How would you like me to tell you that tRump is only bluffing about ICE raids and cancelling mid-term elections? It's happening or all indications are pointing to the likelihood that it will happen. So, too are U.S. Tariffs affecting other countries' economies. It's no bluff. Trump is not a joke to us.

It's also not helpful to reassure me that you are aware of your situation. Believe me, the entire rest of the world has been very aware for a long time. We need to have confidence that you are doing something about it and to consider that it's not just all about you. ❤️🇨🇦

We Americans celebrate July 4th as independence from the British. I wonder, when we finally get rid of Trump, do we get another Independence Day holiday? We should, it will be well deserved. Maybe I'll come to Canada so we can celebrate together. It'll be your independence from him also. We can make it a world wide holiday.

every day it is becoming ever more apparent that ronald mcdonald trump has bitten a way bigger big mac than he will ever be able to chew.

carney is the 1st really manly man trump has ever encountered and hopefully others will be emboldened by carney's strength!

trump has managed to piss off nearly every important country in the entire word and he thinks his crappy attitude is making him stronger.

if you listen very carefully tonight when you go to bed, the distant rumbling you may hear is the trump empire beginning to crumble.

hopefully the rumbling will closely be followed with running footsteps- although running is totally out of the realm of possibility for him- running for his life!!

faster, faster, faster fat ass!!! out of breath yet???

still in denver

flying the canadian flag every-single- day-

not only to piss off my maga neighbor (and it's working) but to show my wholehearted support for canada!

The tariffs are becoming the biggest piece of Trump's foreign policy. How did that happen? It is crazy. Watching the world cater to or not, to our president in the US like he is a big toddler having a hissy fit is disgusting. Glad whenever I can see grownups handling the situation. That is a breath of fresh air.

Jean Chretien did turn thumbs down to the illegal invasion of Iraq in a very dramatic vote in Parliament. That was a badass move that prompted a groveling Stephen Harper to actually pen an apology to the USA in the NY Times. So while I like Carney, he's got a ways to go to match the balls shown by the street fighter from Shawinigan.
