LIVE with Former GOP Congressman Turned MAGA Nightmare, Denver Riggleman

Greenland solidarity 🇬🇱 · Denmark alliance 🇩🇰 · January 6 truth · Ex-GOP courage · AI vs. disinformation · Fridays with Denver & Dean

There are moments when politics stops being theoretical, where it stops being cable news hits and becomes human.

Standing in Greenland and Denmark last week — shoulder to shoulder with Danish and Greenlandic citizens — was one of those moments. Not as tourists. Not as pundits. But as Americans (and a Canadian) trying to repair damage done in our name.

And beside me was a man who had paid a price for living his values.

Denver Riggleman didn’t just travel across the Atlantic to shake hands and talk Arctic security. He protested his own government — publicly — in solidarity with our allies.

A former Republican congressman. A member of the January 6 Committee. A man who could have chosen the easy route of silence and comfort. Instead, he chose truth, accountability, and international solidarity.

This was the first edition of what will now be a regular Substack Live series: Fridays with Denver & Dean.

And if you care about democracy, you’re going to want to pay attention.

Greenland Wasn’t Symbolic. It Was Strategic.

Greenland isn’t just ice and scenery. It’s strategic real estate in a rapidly destabilizing Arctic. It’s where authoritarian fantasies collide with sovereign reality.

For years, Trump-world rhetoric treated Greenland like a pawn on a Monopoly board. A commodity. Something to “buy.”

That arrogance didn’t disappear. It metastasized.

So when we stood in Nuuk and Copenhagen, we weren’t just visiting friends. We were reinforcing a message: Alliances matter. Sovereignty matters. Democracy matters.

Denver understood that immediately. He wasn’t posturing. He wasn’t playing diplomat. He was there to say something very clear:

America is not synonymous with Trump.

That distinction matters globally right now.

A Republican Who Refused to Lie

Denver Riggleman served in Congress as a Republican. He was a conservative. He believed in limited government and individual liberty.

Then January 6 happened.

And instead of bending to party pressure, he worked on the committee investigating the insurrection. He followed the data. The phone records. The digital trails.

He saw firsthand how lies become operationalized.

He watched how disinformation moves from fringe message boards to mainstream political power.

And when he realized the rot went deep, he didn’t equivocate.

He told the truth.

That decision cost him. Politically. Socially. Personally.

But it revealed something rare in American politics right now: a spine.

He Protested His Own Government

While we were in Denmark, Denver chose to join Danish and Greenlandic citizens in solidarity protests against authoritarian encroachment and anti-alliance rhetoric from Washington.

Imagine that visual. Don’t imagine it, actually. Here it is:

An American former GOP congressman standing with European allies, effectively saying: We see what’s happening. We reject it. We stand with you.

That’s not anti-American.

That’s pro-democracy.

And it’s desperately needed.

Because right now, too many elected officials in the United States are silent while institutional norms erode. While federal power is weaponized. While truth is bent into propaganda.

Denver isn’t silent.

Fridays with Denver & Dean

This Substack Live wasn’t a one-off.

It’s the beginning of a regular series.

Every Friday, we’re going to break down what’s actually happening inside the disinformation machine — and how it works.

Here’s what makes this different:

Denver’s day job is AI, data analytics, and disinformation tracking. He studies how lies scale. How networks coordinate. How bots amplify. How narratives are engineered.

This isn’t vibes-based commentary.

It’s data.

It’s signals.

It’s receipts.

The Trump regime — and yes, that’s what it operates like — depends on information asymmetry. It depends on confusion. On outrage cycles. On flooding the zone with so much noise that truth gets buried.

Denver knows how to map that noise.

And he plans on using those skills publicly.

300 Million Americans Are Being Held Hostage by Lies

That phrase isn’t hyperbole.

When misinformation drives policy…
When election denial becomes orthodoxy…
When federal institutions are pressured to serve one man instead of the Constitution…

That’s not politics as usual.

That’s hostage-taking at scale.

Denver broke down how coordinated narrative warfare works:

  • Create a false grievance.

  • Amplify it through aligned influencers.

  • Seed it into partisan media.

  • Weaponize it legislatively.

We’ve seen it with elections.
We’ve seen it with immigration.
We’ve seen it with foreign policy.

The goal isn’t persuasion.

It’s exhaustion.

And when citizens are exhausted, authoritarianism becomes easier to normalize.

This Is What Courage Looks Like

Courage isn’t yelling on cable news.

It’s risking your tribe’s approval to defend your country’s values.

Denver could have stayed quiet, written a memoir, cashed in, and avoided controversy.

Instead, he’s stepping back into the arena.

Not as a partisan. Not as a brand. But as someone who believes the American experiment is worth saving.

And he’s doing it with clarity.

He doesn’t hate Republicans.

He hates what Trumpism has done to the Republican Party.

There’s a difference.

He wants a country where “by the people, for the people” isn’t a nostalgic slogan — it’s operational reality.

America’s Allies Are Watching

One of the most sobering moments from our trip wasn’t a speech or a protest.

It was a quiet conversation with Danish officials who asked a simple question:

“Can we trust America?”

That question used to be unthinkable.

Now it’s routine.

When former U.S. lawmakers show up in solidarity, it sends a signal: the American story isn’t over. The democratic coalition inside the U.S. is still alive.

Denver embodies that coalition.

He’s proof that defending democracy isn’t left vs. right.

It’s democracy vs. authoritarianism.

Get to Know Denver Riggleman

Follow him.

Listen to him.

Engage with him.

Because you’re about to see a lot more of him.

Fridays with Denver & Dean will become a standing appointment for anyone who wants signal over noise. Data over delusion. Strategy over hysteria.

We’re not interested in performative outrage.

We’re interested in solutions.

We’re interested in mapping the architecture of disinformation and dismantling it.

We’re interested in helping restore an America that respects allies, honors truth, and governs for its people — not for one man’s ego.

This Is the Work

The trip to Greenland and Denmark wasn’t about optics.

It was about alignment.

Alignment with democratic nations.
Alignment with sovereignty.
Alignment with truth.

And alignment with Americans like Denver Riggleman — conservatives, liberals, independents — who refuse to surrender their country to lies.

Fridays with Denver & Dean is officially underway.

The work starts now.

And if what you saw in Greenland stirred something in you — if you want an America that shows up for its allies instead of threatening them — you’re in the right place.

More soon.

Much more.
