Isn't the message not that they walked out, rather that Hegseth chased, inarguably, the most professional press corps in Washington, D.C. (read: the last remaining straight spine) out of the Pentagon and, in doing so, has created an accountability blackhole that threatens United States' security and our personal safety? Isn't that our elbows-up message to the world? Hegseth chased them out and, in doing so, we're all more likely to die. That's the beyond-Substack message, imo.
I absolutely love this. I would also have loved to be a fly on the wall as everyone packed up their gear, handed over their press badges and walked out. The look on Hexseth’s face must have been priceless. Now he can have a press briefing with one lone person in the room. Talk about Hexseth attempting an over reach that blew up in his face. Kudos to the brave press, including Fox, who decided we’re mad as hell and we aren’t going to take this anymore. Now if the few legitimate press that cover Trump’s briefings would do the same we’d really be on a big roll. Let the YouTubers and assorted know nothings be the only ones left in the room with him too.
