This is the paradox of performative escalation politics. A hyper-radical splinter of the MAGA universe—Groypers among them—demands more violence, more purity, more punishments for migrants, Muslims, Black Americans, and LGBTQ communities. When establishment figures don’t deliver, the splinter turns its rage inward. That’s why Kirk has been a target for years—and why denial of this dynamic only deepens the risk.
