This Is Not Grassroots: The Same U.S. Ops Pushing Greenland Have Been Poisoning Alberta For Years
Denmark rang the alarm on covert U.S. influence in Greenland. Look north-west: Alberta’s separatists are courting the very same networks.
August 28, 2025
Receipts over rumors.
When Denmark publicly hauled in America’s top diplomat over reports that Trump-aligned operatives were caught trying to juice Greenlandic independence, it didn’t take a geopolitical savant to connect the dots. The Arctic is a resource prize. Influence campaigns are cheaper than invasions. And once you see the methods—cultivate local anger, flood the zone with outside money and media, then engineer a referendum—you can’t unsee them.
Now, look at Alberta.
No, Alberta isn’t Greenland. But the mechanics are uncomfortably familiar: an activist ecosystem telling Albertans they’re victims of an “Eastern elite,” U.S. policy shops and influencers amplifying the grievance, and a new provincial legal environment that makes citizen-led referendums easier to trigger. Put those together and you’ve built a runway for exactly the kind of “soft annexation” campaign Denmark just flagged.
Alberta was Greenland before Greenland. And the exact same MAGA influence poisoning Canada is driving the MAGA-funded Greenland influence operation.
Step 1: Seed the narrative (“You’ve been robbed. There’s a shortcut.”)
Enter the Alberta Prosperity Project (APP) and its roadshow: town halls, merch, pledge drives, and a headline-grabbing gambit—talking openly about leveraging “51st-state” conversations to pressure Ottawa and, if possible, to walk Alberta right out of Confederation. They’ve even floated and filed independence-question petitions and cheered a delegation to Washington to pitch Alberta’s “future” to Trumpworld, offering the Alberta separatists $500,000,000.00 “transition loan” to help Alberta leave Canada. This isn’t satire; it’s a message strategy. Say the quiet part out loud, then call it “just a conversation.”
Alberta Separatists Say Trump Regime Offered Them $500,000,000 “Loan” To Break Up Canada
Alberta’s separatist circuit is bragging about a half-billion-dollar “transition loan” they say was discussed with Trumpworld in Washington. *We chase the stories that Main Stream Media won’t, add receipts, and arm you with context you can trust. Meanwhile, the Free Alberta Strategy—authored by conservative fixtures Rob Anderson, Barry Cooper, and Derek From—mapped the “sovereignty” legal scaffolding that inspired the Sovereignty Act. Notably, it’s explicitly framed to reorder the Ottawa–Edmonton power balance, not to persuade Canadians, just to bulldoze the path.
Step 2: Build the machine (lists, leaders, leverage)
Movements need infrastructure. Take Back Alberta (TBA) delivered just that—church-to-boardroom mobilization, scrutineer trainings, and pressure politics that helped topple a premier and install loyalty inside the UCP apparatus. Academic work has since described TBA’s fusion of evangelical organizing and extractive populism—a Canadian echo of U.S. Christian nationalist resource politics. The result is a perpetual campaign—one that exists between elections and can be leveraged for petitions and referendums on demand.
Step 3: Plug into U.S. networks (money, media, and “experts”)
The convoy was the trial run. In 2022, American donors and media supercharged Canada’s “freedom” protests, creating lists, energy, and mythology that didn’t vanish when the trucks did. Those pipelines now feed Alberta’s culture war and separatist buzz.
Beneath the media surface lies the U.S. free-market donor architecture—training, grants, and convenings—that has long cultivated Canadian policy shops, pushing a “autonomy” and “sovereignty” framing. None of that is illegal; it’s just effective. The point is alignment: Washington-based funder ecosystems support the very think tanks and advocacy vehicles that have normalized Alberta’s grievance politics and provided the “research” to launder it.
Then there’s the election-denial world: The America Project (Patrick Byrne/Michael Flynn) and allied “integrity” outfits. This ready-made mobilization machine has loudly boosted Canada’s culture wars and crafted tactics for signature-gathering, poll watching, and narrative discipline. Even when there’s no public receipt showing dollars landing in Alberta separatist accounts, the training, media oxygen, and narrative playbooks travel just fine.
And they have ALL publicly admitted to having ties to the US/MAGA in some way, shape, or form.
Step 4: Engineer the trigger (make a referendum easy)
Here’s the lever that should make Ottawa sit straight: Alberta’s new rules reduce the bar for citizen-initiated referendums—tens of thousands fewer signatures than before, with longer windows to collect them. It’s the political equivalent of dropping the basket two feet lower and handing your opponents a megaphone. Once the bar is lower, outside agitation pays bigger dividends: fewer bodies, more noise, faster ballot.
What “annexation by other means” looks like in Alberta
Messaging: “Ottawa is illegitimate; Alberta is a colony; only independence restores dignity.”
Mechanics: Build lists (convoy, churches, Facebook groups), tour town halls, hold pledge drives, launch an initiative petition, sue early and often, then race to a referendum.
U.S. Interface: Court Trumpworld for loan talk, endorsements, or ‘free association’ fantasies; book U.S. media; bask in influencer clout; dare Ottawa to call it foreign interference.
Deniability: No single smoking wire. Just “private citizens,” “think-tank grants,” “solidarity,” and “free speech.”
The Venn Diagram (paint this graphic for your readers)
Circle A — U.S. Networks: donor-advised funds, Atlas/“free society” partners, America-First influencers, “election-integrity” training shops (Think America First meets Canada Proud)
Circle B — Alberta Ecosystem: APP (Modry/Sylvestre/Rath), TBA (Parker), Free Alberta Strategy (Anderson/Cooper/From), Alberta Institute/Project Confederation.
Overlap: shared messaging, shared playbooks, U.S. endorsements and platforms, and a referendum pathway that rewards agitation.
Hide behind MAGA Operative rhetoric: MAGA Operative (Ambassador to Canada) Pete Hoekstra delivers the MAGA secession message to alt-right influencers, they take it as “gospel” and then spread the separation disinformation. MAGA-funded and US-owned Post Media (Canada’s biggest print/daily news paper company) spreads the hate to make it all look like there’s a legitimate appetite to separate from Canada (there isn’t).

The stakes (and why this time is different)
Alberta is not a fringe. It’s a G20-scale energy jurisdiction whose political weather moves national markets and NATO math. If you can manufacture consent for separation—or even normalize it as a bargaining chip—you’ve just exported the Greenland gambit into the Canadian core. Resource access, Arctic posture, continental defense, supply chains—everything gets renegotiated on the terms of the loudest, best-funded campaign.
The tell
When separatist organizers brag about leveraging “51st-state” talk and marching a delegation to Washington to pitch Alberta’s future to Trump’s team, that is not constitutional patriotism. That is foreign-sourced leverage. And when provincial law lowers the referendum bar while U.S. networks pump oxygen into the narrative, that’s not a debate—it’s pre-production.
What to watch next (actionable)
Money trails: third-party advertisers, charitable pathways, and cross-border grants.
Signature ops: how lists are compiled, what scripts volunteers use, and which churches/associations are activated.
U.S. amplification: who gets booked on American shows, which think tanks host them, which “patriots” goose the petition clock.
Courts: which referendum questions get green-lit or bounced, and how quickly challenges are filed to re-word them.
Canada’s counter
Sunlight and speed. Treat “51st-state” talk as foreign leverage and anyone who promotes it as a traitor/quisling, not “just a conversation.” Fund civic immunities (independent local media, data-literate election agencies, rapid-response myth-busting). Make outside influence disclosures boringly routine. And call the strategy what it is: annexation by other means.
So, we call it out, like I’m doing here. And there’s way more of us (people with an IQ above 6) than them (clinically dead from the neck up).
The good news? The Trump regime is chock full of legitimate morons who will do anything for a stipend and their dear leader or their invisible God. That’s why Denmark caught three Trump operatives allegedly committing espionage against a fellow NATO member.
That’s who MAGA Attracts. Idiots. Religious zealots who are more style than substance. Idiots don’t dot their T’s or cross their I’s. The only human beings dumber than MAGATs are MAPLE MAGATs who think 36 million ‘others’ will cede agency to an American influence fascist cult movement that wants to put prayer back in schools and hang the F****** Ten Commandments on the wall.

the "eastern elites" who are using Albertans are in Washington, not Ottawa.
Deport and Expel Hoekstra? He's a security foreign affairs risk, like KGB Putin's Russia Get him the hell out!
We think Trump escalated in August because he feels his powers ebbing and is desperately trying everything, he can restore his STRENGTH, VIRILITY and POWER. Despite his efforts it isn’t working. So, anticipate more escalation, more efforts to steal seats, rig the elections, weaken and degrade his opposition and him growing more distant from the public. It is something that I’ve called the vicious cycle of a declining strongman, and yes, we are in the midst of it today.
Roll back Trump’s terrible tariffs
Block the expansion of ICE and the use of the military on our streets including DC
End Trump’s war on science, higher education and our public health and demand the removal of madman Robert Kennedy from HHS
