I never had time (or desire) to watch daytime TV back in the day when Oprah had her show. But a couple of times when I got off call a littler earlier than usual (i.e., only a 30 hour shift, not 36 hours; and that was every other day during my Internship year), I tuned in. As soon as I saw philmcgraw, my skin crawled. I'm a psychiatrist, so was curious what a psychologist would have to say, and I assumed that, given my respect for Oprah, he'd probably be decent. Instead, as I said, he gave me the creeps. Something about him felt dark and judgmental. Turns out, I was right. He is very, very dark.

The mounting death toll in Texas is a searing reminder of the harms his “more for me, less for all of you” agenda has brought to the country. The ongoing Epstein fiasco has been ugly for him in many, many ways. He’s flailing and all over the place on Russia and Ukraine. The 2026 Fiscal Year budget, the one that codifies the big ugly and his extremist agenda, is struggling on the Hill. His bestie Elon has started a new political party. And today, the deadline for his 90 deals in 90 days, he comes to the country with no deals and all sorts of new batshit crazy attacks on our allies; and new promises to keep raising prices on all of us, again betraying the central promise he made to the American people during the 2024 campaign that he would lower their prices and make the economy work better for working people.
Those 2 idiot ass-kissers have got to be kidding!!!! We had a little bit of smoke for a few days in Chicago when the fire was burning up north, it was no big deal. The Big Deal is trump and his cronies sending us back to the early 1900's by getting rid of vital departments and department heads (thank you, DOGE) and letting fossil fuel companies, air and water polluters to just do what they want. I can deal with a forest fire or two, but chemicals in my water, fumes and methane from refineries and large corporations getting access to our National Parks for mining?????? God help us.
I should like to respond to this letter. Only yesterday, while looking out over the lake, I commented to my husband that there appeared to be smoke in the air. Went outside on the patio and my nose confirmed it. The local FB community pages lit up. Where was the fire? Turns out, it's south of the border, northwest of Spokane, with the slightly incongruous name "Hope." Who should I write to complain about this?
