I'm not buying Ford anything at Timmies because his own HORRIBLE Bill 5 just passed here in Ontario that completely allows him the right to wreck the environment, endanger species, and an even greater indignity, Ford is giving the Indigenous absolutely no voice in this, or hearing their objections to raping their lands while riding roughshod over all our Indigenous peoples.

So it's a real irony that one guy who also wants to be king is giving the short straw to another.

Very conflicted and corrupt on both sides here.

I don't agree with Doug Ford on much, including Bill 5, but I do like how he punches back!

The stupidity of Trump is boundless. How, on earth, can rational people in the US get rid of this boil on the world's posterior? Five months is all it took to destroy the US internationally and domestically. My wife and I are going to a June 14th "N o Kings" rally alongcwith millions of other concerned people and it will be interesting to see if the MSM will give the rallies more coverage than Trump's idiotic birthday parade. 8647!

This is the right approach...we need to increase our manufacturing abilities and output....one of the neoliberal policies which has hurt us badly was to forego manufacturing and become more resource-export oriented (this is in Alex Himelfarb's great book). But our new approach must also be for the 21st century: taking into account First Nations values like reciprocity and harmony, environmental issues like sustainability , and social issues like good union jobs and 'just' profits for the private sector....

Canadian steel mills in Hamilton, Sault St Marie and Montreal will be booming again. Mining will be energized. Infrastructure is there. Massive boost to the economy. Jobs for our youth! This is a positive move. Bring it home!

But let's not forget that Doug Ford likes to blow hard just like Trump and then renege. You could call him TACO2.

I think this is a distraction tactic to get people to forget Bill 5. He's trying to slip something destructive through our Ontario legislation, and he wants people looking somewhere else while he does it.

Check the must see video I posted in my Notes. This woman ran the Big Bullshit Bill through AI and the resulting analysis is a must see. This trojan horse bill will be one of the final nails in the coffin of democracy. http://vm.tiktok.com/ZNdS6EogK Posted by @hautefolie

Will Canada be able to make up for the $30 billion of steel they currently import from the U.S.?

Does he have the ability to do this? I understand he can deny american steel usage in any Provincial contract (and there are lots of them) but how can he stop an american can from being filled with Canadian beer? I though managing imports was a federal responsibility?

Why wouldn’t Canadian Breweries want to buy from Canada? I think Canadians will want to support our own. I do!!

We have a couple smaller can factories in Canada but I understand the plan is to bring production back to a large facility in Ontario.

Ball Packaging in Whitby, On currently converts flat coils of aluminum into cans for brewing. They are the largest and most probable???

Anyone believing Ford’s posturing is gullible, plain and simple - watch what he does not what he says - as one reader stated above is he TACO2. I would love to see us produce here and one would think it would make sense but there is a reason companies moved to USA so one would need companies committed not only in creating the goods but paying a fair wage in order to do so. I’m willing to be pleasantly shocked if this proceeds past a headline grab but if it does he will be despite Doug Ford not because of him.
