Thank you, Dean!! What a beautiful love letter to Canada! You made me tear up with pride. My father was a first generation Canadian. His family also came from England. My mother was American. She gave up her citizenship to become Canadian. She said it was the proudest day of her life.
Happy Canada Day, Dean, to you and your family! I LOVE your wonderful writing! Don't ever stop!! 🇨🇦
You are so lucky! And you should be proud. A bunch of us in the US are hoping to emulate your ideals but know it will be a while before that happens. Keep your Elbows Up for us!
I just watched our Prime Minister give his speech at the Ottawa Celebrations and what struck me first is that our leader doesn’t have to hide behind a bullet-proof glass to speak to crowds. I also saw him among the crowd and shaking hands. Of course the security guards were watching but it’s amazing how safe our country is compared to many others (not to name any…). I am so proud of our Country and it’s leaders, past and present. And thank you Dean for your excellent reporting💖🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
And thank YOU Dean for such a wonderful love letter. One of the many things I love about the Canadians who were not born here, is the way each and every one of them can do a much better job of articulating the main points about our country, than we who were born here.
We indeed have had our lives enriched tremendously by welcoming in so many brothers and sisters -- Canadian by another mother country. Cheers!!
Beautifully written sentiment that speaks volumes to your love, pride, and commitment honoring a country which should be emulated around the world. We used to have the American dream, feeling the way you do about Canada, but are watching it being destroyed in front of our eyes. We are happy for all Canadians for what you are and have. May we once again feel the way you do.
Thank you Dean. You got me thinking I should write my own thank you note to this beautiful country of ours. I came here as a young child from The Netherlands. My parents had love for this country, two words of english and $200. Like your family, we did alright. Happy Birthday Canada, my forever home. ❤️🤍❤️
Happy Birthday, Canada! I'm more baffled than ever in my 70+ years why my grandfather decided to emigrate from Canada to the US. At least I know that you're still alive and, I hope, keeping Elbows Up!
