Great stuff that I'm not seeing anyone else talk about. I think a lot of people are aware that other countries are holding US debt but how that puts them at risk is the missing piece. Wouldn't China have a very large part of it due to the trade imbalance? China is so integrated with the rest of the world including (especially) the US that the tariffs on them must still be a big risk.

Has there been a time when Canada needed a leader with international contacts more than now? Not in my life time.

Fascinating analysis. Sure hope Carney wins. But how does this explanation stack up with Robert Reich and Amy Siskind’s analysis that Trump used tariffs to rank the markets so his family and others could use insider trading to make still more illicit profits? Adam Schiff has opened an investigation into insider trading.

Dean, thank you. I would love this to be true. And I'd love to post & share to social media. But only if I can show them how all the dots connect. I've looked at the US Treasury Bond numbers and related articles, and

- Canada did add $11 billion in bonds in Q4 of 2024 - which was before Carney's tenure as PM.

- Canada tripled its US bond holdings since Covid to anywhere between $350 - $378B in bonds. - there was a sell-off after the penguin tariff announcements.

But I can't find evidence that Carney orchestrated the sell-off. He went to Europe right after he was sworn in but how does one find out what he discussed with Macron et al. Where can I find that info?

Oh boy, I’m sooo proud of Carney. He can run circles around the stupid prick in DC, and trump wouldn’t even know it. Thank you Mark Carney.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

This is an incredible story, and I want it to be true, but what are the sources I cant find similar stories anywhere other than rumors from a month ago.

I saw that video clip a while ago. I noticed how the presenter could barely contain his glee. Also knew that Japan had a ton of US bonds.

Don't know if you've seen clips of the Singapore PM. Calm, measured, matter of fact. Sound familiar? I think Canada has possibilities on South East Asia. I can barely contain my glee.

This article alone prompted me to take advantage of the discounted life membership. I never see reporting like this in the U.S. And God bless Mark Carney! He’s renewed my faith in leadership. We Americans so badly need our faith back.
