YOU Cannot Bomb Knowledge Out of Existence. Iran knows how to make a nuclear bomb. They do. And bombing their facilities just destroys their equipment; it does not eliminate their knowledge. That risk is why many of us believed that a negotiated agreement that put in place verifiable limits on Iran’s nuclear program was a safer bet than military action.
EVEN opponents of this strike need to admit Iran is weak, and we cannot know for sure what the future holds. Is it out of the question that the tired, elderly Supreme Leader decides that he doesn’t want a drawn-out fight with the United States and responds in a way that doesn’t escalate the situation? Sure. But we can’t count on it and have to weigh those risks seriously.

What triggered my comment on this 5 stack was the part on how this was a significant windfall for Putin. Absolutely, brilliantly stated and correct, I couldn't agree more.

Imagine for a minute, that you are a futures trader, a futures trader in oil, and you get to decide when the price goes up. (just do a stealth bombing run on Iran). And even better you get to pay for the oil futures with your own money. The money that you have is a crypto currency that you totally control the value of, and if that weren't enough, if you run out, all you have to do is print more, (so as to speak,) by issuing a new series of numbers.
So, to summarize in this day dream, you can buy oil at the low cost of June 1, with money that doesn't actually have any value (free oil), and then you can sell the oil for todays price and pocket what $$$ you get. (In US currency-sort of like money laundering)
To do the rough arithmetic, if you purchased a million contracts (each contract gives you the privilege of buying 1000 barrels of oil at the June1 price) and then selling it today, you just made $ 10 billion dollars in a few weeks.
