The more Trump plays with tariffs, the more instability he introduces into the American economy. This is terrible for both new business and investment. All Canada needs to do is hold steady, and a lot of that investment and new business will come here: 1. to avoid the instability and 2. to have tariff-free access to the rest of the world. Mark Carney is far smarter than I am in economics, and I am certain he is well aware of this. Canada needs to hold the line; we will come through on the other side just fine, while it will take decades for America to recover!

I agree completely. If Canada just holds the line, this could mean an economic boom for Canada, especially if we continue on this authoritarian path. No one will want to do business with us anymore. I am more than happy to bring all my American dollars to Canada!

Thank you very much for your support of Canada. We appreciate our American friends very much and we support you in your fight to return your democracy!

Go get him, Mark Carney. We Americans, for the most part, are behind you. You are not the enemy, Trump is to all of us. Time to get rid of him.

Love that he just put a tariff on tomatoes from Mexico. Really dumb move as 85% of tomatoes sold in the US come from Mexico. The 15% that are farmed in the US are rotting on the vine since no one is picking due to ICE.

Canada needs to hold the line on metals and ores....and potash. Refuse to even sell to US. (Im sure there are plenty of other buyers). Carney needs to make it clear to Prairie Princess that Canada is ONE country and Doug Ford can tell her (in his own blunt way) to get the crappy American booze off her shelves now!.

By Christmas, when shelves that should hold kids toys are empty down there.... the populace will have a reckoning. Canada will do just fine .

Trump Wants Americans to suffer like the old Soviet Block in the 1980's, no food on the shelves or too expensive to buy. That'll do them he feels, let them suffer, the bastards!

WIRED just published a great article that nicely complements this: "The Enshittification of American Power". It's in Canada's -- and the world's -- best interest to decouple from American "stuff" (tech, social media, financial systems).

Sadly true… the only way to deal with a bully is very stern consequences. And cutting off Trump‘s purse strings are the best way to do it. It will sadly kill us Americans financially but fuck it …I love camping!

Carney is a smart man. I hope is is even smarter than I think, I back Carney - and so expect him to: 1. interact according to the hghest standards with Canada's Indigenous People about any developments that affect them; 2. likewise protect Canada's ecological systems, as well as the global climate, from undue harms - because we absolutely depend on them for our lives; and 3. secure Canada's future as an alternative energy super-power so we manage to survive the mega-fires, heat domes, mega-storms, rising oceans, melting glaciers and floods to come in the Climate Emergency, caused by the exploding use of fossil fuels during the last 150 years. These are my hopes and expectations. Crazy? See Johan Rockstrom of the 9 planetary boundaries.

It must be nice to have an intellectual running Canada.

Carney cares about his country. Trump does not. I’m not sure he cares about anyone, any where. He loves cosplaying the Presidency; he loves jerking people around.

I hope this Epstein stuff takes him down. I hope the photos of him and Epstein with topless little girls at a private party begin making front page news. Everywhere. His base needs to see them. Those photos will “testify” to his lewdness and his involvement with JE.
