Trump's Epstein list nightmare grows, MAGA cracks, Tariff letter comedy, ICE terrorized kids in LA for a photo op, Texas flood update, Steve Schmidt's dire warning
The flood in Texas just might jump start some action against Trump ism and DOGE.
Families who sent their girls to Camp Mystic are not "the poors". They come from River Oaks and other wealthy enclaves.
At what point do these well-to-do parents begin lawsuits? Lawsuits where depositions and records lay bare how the gutting of NWS, contributed to the tragedy. These parents have influence and MONEY. Maybe that will make a difference.....or
Perhaps when they file their taxes and see their tax break it might occur to them that that tax break was not worth their child's life.
NYT 's reports Tesla Stock Dives as Elon Musk Plans New Political Party
Mr. Musk’s involvement in politics was once seen by investors as a benefit to Tesla. Not anymore.
Tesla shares plunged nearly 7 percent on Monday as investors registered dismay at Mr. Musk’s plans to form a third party and his intensifying feud with President Trump.
Tesla backers call on its board to restrain Musk as he plunges back into politics!
Masked, unidentified agents have been “systematically” cornering brown-skinned people in a show of force across Southern California, tackling those who attempt to leave, arresting them without probable cause and then placing them in “dungeon-like” conditions without access to lawyers, a federal lawsuit alleges.
And if things have not been horrifying enough, DHS is about to morph into an even more monstrous operation that will bring America that much closer to a police state. Under the morally repugnant reconciliation bill, taxpayers will be spending “$170 billion for immigration- and border enforcement-related funding provisions.” That includes $45B (a 265% increase in ICE’s detention budget) and “$29.9 billion toward ICE’s enforcement and deportation operations, increasing ICE’s annual budget three-fold.”

Lawrence Summers: This Law Made Me Ashamed of My Country
Over the holiday weekend, while the president was celebrating tax cuts that over 10 years will deliver an average of more than $1 million to families in the top 0.1 percent of the income distribution, medical professionals were considering questions like these:
What should they say to seriously disabled patients, who can live at home only because Medicaid pays for rides to their medical appointments, now that those people could lose that coverage?
What should they recommend to the relatives caring for poor patients at home, who will no longer be able to work when payments for home-health aides are no longer available?
Should they still feel proud of and committed to the work of giving comfort to the lonely, poor and elderly, when their country’s leaders have decided that more money for the most fortunate is a higher priority?
How can they face patients who will be evicted from the hospital with perhaps as little as a cab voucher when their stays end?
Thanks, Elliott, for giving us “a bit more”. For all the disgusting and tragic things in every Substack or news release there’s even more to become aware of. I’m exhausted! But keep on keepin’ on, as I like to say!!!
Your U.S. reporting is fantastic. But then, as U.S. subscriber, I was looking forward to more Canadian oriented features/reactions.
Your podcasts are, how do I say this diplomatically...lacking.
Basically, three guys, one of whom I never about, whose views are interesting for one interview, another a Giuliani scammer, and Steve Schmidt, a political operative I can pick-up readily from American outlets.
How about the perspectives of serious Canadian pols/analysists from Ottawa, Quebec, the Maritimes, the Canadian Rockies, and BC dealing with the fuquing U.S. policies, reacting to the Canadian government policies???
That's why I subscribed --- for the news and reactions of normal North Americans.
