My husband and I made ourselves watch it. Wow. This guy is our president. This should scare the sh*t out of every American

kdsherpa's avatar

I can't do that. I know what a filthy POS he is. I don't need further confirmation.

Linda Weide's avatar

I'm in Europe and I did not even think much about it, except that it is too bad that the US is not the kind of country where the journalists would all boycott the event because they are all so hangry after a story, and jump though the hoops. Oh well. I knew that people like Dean would make it so much more interesting. It sounds like the kind of thing that people in high school would get high to watch. Sort of like a real version of SNL.

Whineboy's avatar

What an f-ing turd he is.

Ellen Franzen's avatar

Gluttons for punishment, are you?

Lux's avatar

He doesn't scare me half as much as the 700 people in that room represent a microcosm of the entire population. This fat demented piece of human filth guts our institutions, robs us all blind, and the collective response from a nation born in revolution? Basically HIM, responding to Wolf Blitzer, this thing ain't going anywhere til that changes....

mac jordan 🇬🇧's avatar

Not just Americans. Iran is targeting the UK 🇬🇧 due to his illegal war.

Suel J's avatar

It sure scares the shit out of me.

Dannys's avatar

Dean, excellent reporting. Thank you for the videos, but better yet the audio so I don’t have to listen to the turd’s words. Thanks again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Linda Weide's avatar

Yes. I do not play videos of Trump speaking. I always read the transcript.

Kathi Ruel's avatar

Me, too! I hate his voice and mannerisms. I can’t finish a post with a video if there isn’t a transcript.

Ellen Franzen's avatar

However, I have standards. I only watched the first video. Sorry Dean.

The most damning indictment of the DC press corps I've read anywhere. Can't even wrap my mind around a reporter shaking the hand of the man who doxxed her, endangered her family and forced them to move for their own protection. The utter compliance and submission on display last night is revolting.

kdsherpa's avatar

I hear you, and agree with you. But I wonder if there's another side to it: HE'S shaking the hand of someone who KNOCKED HIM DOWN. There is a certain delicious irony in that.

Jane in NC's avatar

One problem, though: His takeaway will be that he wasn't that bad if she shook his hand.

kdsherpa's avatar

Yeah. You're right. Always: me me me -- I'm so great.

Suel J's avatar

That creeped me out. Why did she do that? How many decades of advancement did we just see squashed? Too many cliches here. Returning to your abuser.

Jane in NC's avatar

That was my gut reaction, too, Sue.

There's a woman named Juliet Jeske who has a podcast and substack and YouTube Channel called "Decoding Fox News". One of her best features is "Trump Without Trump" on Youtube, where she pastes a chyron over his face and reads a meticulously accurate transcript of what he says in the video word for word. She prefaces each clip saying, "You don't have to see his face or listen to his voice. These are the words of the President of the United States." And without the distraction of his slurring sagging face hole you can hear just exactly how unhinged he sounds. She deserves a Nobel Prize. Or maybe the Medal of Valor or something.

Thanks for the information, I am going to look this up. His voice is like fingernails scratching on a chalkboard in my ears! I miss Sarah Connor, who did a lot of these types of videos during the 45 term.

This is her YouTube Channel. It has more than just the Trump Without Trump ones, but her other content is good too. Those are just my favorite.

I just subscribed.

Thanks!!!! Looking for some good humor!

Where can I find the attendee list so I can learn who’s businesses to boycott. It’s disgusting they sat there & demeaned themselves like that. I had hopes that at least done if them would stand up & walk out.

Debbi Gonzalez's avatar

That list should be posted.

Ellen Franzen's avatar

Finally, a good comment. Dean, you fell down on the job too. You should have posted the attendees affiliations and business interests.

Kathi Ruel's avatar

Don’t knock Dean. This guy gives more information than a lot of folks. Not to mention it would be a horrendously LONG post. Perhaps, there is a list of attendees and their affiliations elsewhere.

Suel J's avatar

This is a reason I subscribe here! Deans complete reporting.

I wouldn’t have bet on Wolf Blitzer driving such a wedge at Felon, but he surely did and Felon didn’t really appreciate how devastating that was. I’m disgusted at the folks who actually shook his hand instead of walking away. And his joke about our being broke when he’s gone? True! He’s looting the Treasury on a gargantuan basis that (with Bessent’s consent) will make us beggars in a very short time. And apparently the WHCD knew there would be a LOT fewer attendees and got a smaller venue – – 2500 to 700! Glad those toadies showed their contempt, but sorry it wasn’t a more definite boycott.

Steven M.'s avatar

If what you say comes true, then the US will destroy itself and its enemies won't have to fire even one shot to do it.

Nancy Frager's avatar

Steven, that's exactly what's happening

Chris Turner's avatar

Terrific journalism, Dean! We'll all wait for the regime change...maybe starting after the midterms! In the meantime, Canada strong!

Jan Moon's avatar

God, what a travesty. I am so embarrassed to be in the same hemisphere with this ongoing horror show.

kdsherpa's avatar

"We" (the U.S.) has become despised by so many of our former allies. And the repugnicants just keep letting it happen.

Ellen Franzen's avatar

At least I'm in California.

Deb's avatar

The best recap. I didn’t watch but what you showed I m glad I missed it. His voice irritates me so thank you

An Mcgreevy's avatar

Actually it seems as if his speech writers are domestic terrorists exposing the mad king for all to see.

Diana Leck's avatar

Dear. God.

What a a steaming hot mess of deranged, ignorant, poster boy for mental illness he is. Yet who I detest the most through all of it is every disgusting, abhorrent individual there who props him up and helps him to continue the illusion that he is a great leader to be admired and respected.

They are at least as evil as him, if not worse.

DA's avatar

They just give the man fuel for more destructive verbiage & more ridiculous lawsuits.

Jayne Morehouse's avatar

Absolutely incredible, Dean.

Walter Bruno's avatar

I'm glad to see Dean's commentary. How on earth did the organizers get away with staging this for the regime? It was v. 2 of Hucksucky, barking at high-ranking military officers to lose weight, shave beards, and practise the fascist salute to him.

Anyone who attended this travesty would know exactl;y what he was going to do.

Did nobody just get up and walk out?? Any media that covered it 'live' with no running commentary was committing a fraud on its audience. Let Fox own its product, and then, run low-lights of it later.

David E. Roy Ph.D.'s avatar

A depressing account of a messy, unclean ‘celebration.’

Steven M.'s avatar

If I were Kaitlin Collins, I would consider it a huge compliment and even say, openly: Trump has insulted and demeaned me (however many times), and I'm glad he has noticed me in this light.

Thanks for the compliments.

His insult of Ilhan Omar was disgusting. Trump is simply ready for a canal barge. (That parallels what Henry Higgins mother [played by the late Gladys Cooper] said of Liza Doolittle [played by Audrey Hepburn], after the latter's behaviour at the Ascot Race. For those who don't know, canal barges in England were used for, among other things, hauling away the local garbage.) He is just white tr**sh, who happens to have a lot of money, and belongs on the heap of garbage that the canal barges used to haul away.

James Vander Poel's avatar

Thank you, Dean. I was watching MS-NOW and they were spending entirely too much air time showing the Orange Menace, to the point where we had to switch to local news to escape the sewage outflow. Your summation is greatly appreciated.

We did see the awards piece - the one to the NYT group was especially gratifying. But I wouldn't have shaken his hand, had I been in that position. Some things just cannot be done.

Kathi Ruel's avatar

I’m sorry MS Now even covered it.
