It is disgusting how they attack the media with lies, while the truth is facing them square in the face. The art of lying, the practice of deflecting is on steroids with this current administration. MAGA Dope Pete Hegseth Accidentally Exposes Trump’s Vile Scam on Iran
President Donald Trump and his top advisers have worked themselves up into a fury about the leaked intelligence assessment casting doubt on the success of Trump’s bombing of Iran. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth unleashed a wild, angry rant about it during a presser with Trump, viciously attacking intelligence officials for leaking the assessment. What Hegseth ended up revealing, however, is the true depths of the ugly scam Trump is attempting to pull here. As Hegseth showed, we almost certainly cannot count on this administration to officially tell the truth about the Iran mission at any point, because everything must always serve the cult of Trump above all else. We talked to veteran national security lawyer Bradley Moss, who explains why this assessment is so important, what likely went into it, how the Hegseth-Trump-MAGA propaganda campaign is taking us to a very dangerous place as a country, and what to expect next.
The Supreme Court Picks Trump Over the Rule of Law

Remember during the Iraq war when the worst sin imaginable was not to "support the troops"?
Part of this floundering is an attempt to revive that nonsense; the rest just trump's reflexive lies, and the craven response of republicans (and a fair number of democrats).
Remember when Trump told reporters that he ‘didn’t care’ that Tulsi Gabbard advised him of the IC view that the Iranian nuclear program was dormant?
It could just be that the B-2 strike on Iran was more about testing the loyalty of the Pentagon, than Iran’s nuclear program.
There is much that can be deduced about Trump's attack on Iran by examining the timeline of events. This then results in the conclusion that the strike on Iran wasn't about destroying their ability to produce nuclear weapons, but that it was a test to determine whether the Pentagon would obey Trump's orders, and to determine if any 'adjustments' to the chain-of-command were required.
The events to be considered are:
(*) Trump's birthday parade - 14th June
(*) Decision to test the Pentagon's loyalty - a couple of days later?
(*) Instructions to Pentagon to prepare plans for the attack - say, 17th June
(*) Pentagon takes existing plans for attacking Iran off the shelf and reviews to make necessary adjustments - say, a couple of days
(*) Pentagon submits revised plans for approval
(*) Trump approves plan - 19th June
(*) Putin, fully informed of plans, advises Tehran of pending attack - before 19th June
(*) Tehran starts moving nuclear material and equipment - 19th June
(*) Pentagon mobilizes movement of tankers, bombers, materiel & personnel - 19th June
(*) Pentagon advises mobilization complete - 22nd June
(*) Trump issues order for attack to commence - 22nd June
(*) Confusion in Trump Administration about the results and purpose of the mission.
Some of the dates above may be subject to correction, but the 'broad brush' would be about right.
And connecting the dots:
Trump's birthday parade was a flop. What must have particularly irked him was the disrespect the marching troops showed when they broke cadence when the walked past the VIP stand. The evidence of this is that Trump didn't mention it. But it must have been discussed, and it brought into question the loyalty of the Army, and by extension, that of the Pentagon. So a test was needed. The situation with Iran and Israel was boiling over, and 'helping an ally' would be quite appropriate - destroying an enemy's nuclear capability can't be contentious. Can it?
So the order was issued to the Pentagon to prepare a strike to destroy Iran's nascent nuclear capability. Now these plans aren't made up 'on the fly' - they have been worked out, with all the logistics, and war-gamed before hand. Maybe even years ago. And these plans sit on the shelf - thousands of them. Probably for every country in the world. But these plans, when activated, first need to be reviewed and adjusted as required. Then the revised plan is submitted to the President for approval.
And so Trump approved it, and the massive logistical movement began.
However, Putin was in the loop all the time. As Lev Parnas points out, this attack would not have taken place without the green light from the Kremlin. Putin then informed Teheran of the attack that was being planned, and Iran then moved their enriched uranium and critical equipment off-site to secret locations.
The attack then took place, and was an unqualified success. Whereas it did little to disrupt Iran's nuclear program, but it did demonstrate the Pentagon's loyalty to Trump.
And it left Trump's cabinet looking like fools in trying to explain the rationale for the attack . . .

Germany’s ThyssenKrupp AG and South Korea’s Hanwha Ocean Co are among companies who have registered lobbyists in Ottawa related to that contract. Canada’s Foreign Minister Anita Anand is meeting with her German counterpart in Berlin on Thursday.
Canada is also reviewing its procurement process so it can better fulfill its enormous ramp-up in planned defense spending. The overall cost estimate of the F-35 order jumped to C$27.7 billion, almost 50% more than originally anticipated, Auditor General Karen Hogan said in a report this month.
Earlier in June, Saab said it’s “always ready to discuss offering our Gripen E fighter aircraft to nations seeking a cutting-edge, multi-role air combat system” and “remains prepared to support Canada’s defense readiness by air, sea and land.”
(Bloomberg) --------- Prime Minister Mark Carney said he met with European defense suppliers about jets and submarines and expects to conclude a review of a major contract for Lockheed Martin Corp. F-35 jets as soon as this summer.
The remarks came minutes after he signed the North Atlantic Treaty Organization pledge to increase core defense spending as a share of gross domestic product to 3.5% from 2% over a decade. Carney has said Canada should stop sending the vast majority of its defense dollars to the US, after President Donald Trump imposed punishing tariffs and repeatedly said Canada should be an American state.
“The review of the F-35 we expect to complete by the end of the summer — we’ll take all the time necessary, no more,” Carney said at his closing news conference at the NATO summit in The Hague on Wednesday.
In May, Carney named Swedish aerospace contractor Saab AB’s Gripen E jet as a potential alternative fighter plane. It was the runner-up to US-based Lockheed Martin in a 2023 race to supply Canada with fighter jets, and has previously offered to build the warplanes in Canada.
Canada’s contract to buy 88 F-35s is divided into tranches and it has already triggered a legal commitment of funds for the first 16 jets. In May, Carney also said a major factor in the review will be whether Lockheed can commit to building more of the planes in Canada.
Carney met with the prime minister of Sweden during his time in The Hague. On Monday, in Brussels, he signed a security and defense partnership with the European Union, which paves the way for joint procurement with European partners and access to the bloc’s new €150 billion ($174 billioThe search for as many as 12 new submarines to replace Canada’s fleet from the 1990s is a longer tender, expected to be worth tens of billions of dollars, which may not be decided until 2028.
